I let myself be in an outrageously bad mood one morning a week, for personal function, and today is the day.
I think, personally, I am mad that insidious and disgusting systems of white supremacy are constantly coddled and uplifted for marketing campaigns.
I’m mad that major corporations put out content they KNOW is morally wrong because it is more important to profit off of rage bait and chasing social media virality with 0 moral regard for the role they play in perpetuating concepts like ableism and racism, than being actually culturally aware of the harm they do and moving accordingly.
I’m mad that those who sit in the highest offices of corporations and government make giant stacks of money off the blood of those fighting everyday for the human dignity of ALL PEOPLE, while perpetuating hate mongering and degredation of our society’s ethical compass, but then want to act like they aren’t complicit in the broader problem.
I’m mad that when called out for their role in it, too many make excuses about how we are all just “too sensitive” because, after all, they’re just “doing their jobs” while seeing firsthand the impact of “shock marketing” on vulnerable and marginalized communities that have to actually survive in the bodies they were given.
Making an intentionally pro Eugenics ad because people will talk about it, from my perception as someone who is disabled, is no different than Kanye West dressing up as a KKK member and proclaiming he is a Nazi to kick up controvery and clicks on his name.
We are living in a time where the government is using our most private medical data to sort us into lists so that Neurodivergent folks like me can get sent to literal concentration camps–I don’t find the trend marketing that encourages Aryan ideals to be “cute”.
