This is what the face of community leadership looks like in Chicago’s South Side.
Today, I was blessed to tag along and see my best friend and roomate do the blessed work of bringing education to our community.
Robin Johnson is an Adult Education Advisor at the Endeleo Institute through TRIO. She works selflessly to connect adult learners to the dream of completing their education. She meets people in her office, and at community events across the city, where she helps guide them through every step of the higher education process. She attends panels, conferences, community events, schools, graduations, and commencements with her big purple back of resources in tow.
She is just one of hundreds of thousands of hard working, inspirational, dedicated changemakers whose funding is at threat under the current Administration due to their reckless endangerment of the Department of Education.
Please take a moment to give Robin her flowers for all of the important work she continues to show up and do everyday, even while our goverment seeks to punish the good work of community education.
You can learn more about TRIO’s Educational Opportunity Centers, which are free nationwide, here.
